Healing HEART Sanctuary is currently in the process of organizing its Advisory Council. Specifically we are looking for individuals who bring specific skills, talents, or contacts and have time to utilize these for the benefit of the sanctuary.
The time commitment will not be as consistent as that of a Board Member. But rather may be project or program-oriented. Additionally, at your discretion you may choose to participate on a committee under the leadership of another.
Being named to the Advisory Council also gives us the opportunity to recognize those who have gone above-and-beyond in their assistance to Healing HEART Sanctuary. And we’re pleased and grateful to acknowledge these individual’s contributions.
The members of our Advisory Council include (in alphabetical
order):
Christina
Carmel
- Sotheby’s
International Realty, Malibu
- Cha
Cha and HHS was featured in Christina’s first monthly
calendar which is distributed monthly to 35,000 businesses
and individuals in the Malibu and Santa Monica areas
- Christina is a generous spirit who has introduced Healing
HEART Sanctuary to many caring individuals and organizations,
and often has the perfect referral we need to address an issue
Eliza Alys Young
Creative Director
- Eliza is the Owner and Creative Director for Design
Intense,
a creative services agency which designed (and donated) the
branding and website for Healing HEART Sanctuary.
- Eliza has over 20 years experience in visual communication
and has been designing websites since the birth of the web.
Her professional experience includes developing
classes and curriculmns in design.
- Eliza is an avid animal lover and committed supporter of
Healing HEART Sanctuary's valuable work.
Heather Bryer
- Heather is a Commercial Property Manager for Douglas Emmett
Inc., a Southern California-based real estate investment trust
active in the commercial office and multifamily property markets
of California and Hawaii. Heather manages approximately 500,000
square feet of Class A commercial assets in the premier California
submarket of Santa Monica, including preparing and reviewing
financial policies, all necessary reporting as well as tenant/employee
relations.
- Her love of animals brought her to Healing HEART Sanctuary
at its early inception, dating to 2003. She’s an avid
donor to many causes; and as such, provides valuable insight
into the donor mindset. We consider her our in-house expert
on the topic. Overall, Heather brings a well-rounded business
background with stellar financial expertise.
Michael Church
- Manages the Video On Demand Technical Support group for Concurrent
Computer Corporation.
- Michael brings his significant technological experience with
web and email hosting
- He lives with his wife Jennifer and their two dogs in Atlanta
Richard Bradshaw
- Richard has over 34 years of experience in the non-profit
realm. He spent 27 years as General Manager and Managing
Director for a number of large-scale resort communities and
7 years as a board member of a large non-profit association.
Richard has been involved with all aspects of community management,
including successfully representing communities through presentations
with California State’s Franchise Tax Board, Public
Health, Water Resources, Environmental Health, and the California
Coastal Commission. He has also represented the communities
at both county and city levels. Richard has overseen a volunteer
program that fielded almost 1,000 volunteers annually and
has supervised a counseling department that consisted of
4 full-time Medical Social Workers.
- Richard helped form a consolidated fire district and a
large fire safe council, both for which he served as a board
member. He also served as a member of the Sonoma County tourist
board and as a member of a county drug and alcohol abuse
board.
- For 6 years, Richard was the volunteer manager of Bodega
Bay’s
annual Fisherman’s Festival, which raised funds for
community projects. The festival was attended by over 30,000
people annually.
- Richard’s education includes a B.S. in Recreational
Administration and certification as a California Association
Community Manager. His annual operational budgets have exceeded
more than 6 million dollars and have employed in excess of
150 employees. Richard has overseen the construction of a
championship golf course, 4 clubhouses, and a marina.
Troy Blanchard, Esq.
- Shareholder,
Durham Jones & Pinegar
- Troy has been involved with Healing HEART Sanctuary since
its inception and he has demonstrated his commitment time
and time again
- Our thanks to his family as well, as we know that sometimes
he’s spent time on our work when he could have been
with his family
